| DOLANUncle Dolan started off in the summer of 2010, when a (presumably Finnish) artist calling themselves Sakolut produced a series of comics starring the character. The comic strips were initially posted onto the Finnish Kuvalauta board under the title ‘aku ankka’. The ‘Uncle Dolan’ moniker comes from the character’s tendency to finish sentences with “Regards, Uncle Dolan”. The comics themselves, although not titled, appear to rotate around the exploits of a character similar in appearance to Disney’s Donald Duck. He is considerably more amateurishly drawn, however, and his speech varies wildly between Finnish and badly-written English, a source of the comic’s non-sequitur based humour.
